Abstract

Digital parenting is a parenting pattern in which parents guide, supervise, and set boundaries for their children's use of digital devices. This study aims to describe the implementation of digital parenting among parents of early childhood in the context of technological development. The research employed a qualitative
method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through interviews supported by observations to strengthen the findings. The study focused on the experiences of two parents with children aged 3–6 years living in Housing Complex X. The results revealed that the application of digital parenting was carried out through four main strategies: restriction, supervision, empowerment,
and diversion. Restrictions were consciously applied but remained relatively simple. Supervision was implemented in specific ways during the provision of digital devices. Empowerment involved education and discipline training, although it was not yet supported by systematic digital media or approaches. Meanwhile, diversion reflected parents’ adaptation to time and situational constraints but was not accompanied by efforts to enhance their digital capacity.
