Abstract
Manokwari Regency, as the administrative center of West Papua Province, holds a strategic role as an inter-regency connector. However, the limited transportation infrastructure has become an obstacle in supporting regional development. Therefore, the construction of the Maigiri–Wangowam–Pegaf road, with a total length of 3 km, is planned as a connector to facilitate community mobility and goods distribution. This study aims to design the road according to technical standards, including geometric planning, pavement design, drainage, and cost estimation. The planning method refers to Bina Marga standards, involving analysis of horizontal and vertical alignments, calculation of cut and fill volumes, and design of U-ditch drainage channels. The planning results show 5 horizontal curves and 7 vertical curves. The road pavement is designed with a 7 cm thick asphalt concrete surface layer, a 20 cm thick crushed stone base, and a 10 cm thick sub-base of selected gravel. The total construction cost is estimated at IDR 43.65 billion, with an implementation duration of 248 days. This road development is expected to improve connectivity, travel efficiency, and the welfare of the surrounding communities.
