Abstract
Effectiveness of Tuberculosis Outbreak Control Through the “Gesit TB” Program in Batu City. This study examines how the Gesit TB program attempts to control Tuberculosis in Batu City. This program is an innovative program that aims to improve early detection and handling of tuberculosis cases, especially in areas with a high risk of transmission. A qualitative descriptive method was used in this study to thoroughly explain the implementation of the program. With data collection techniques through interviews, direct observation in the field, and documentation.
The results of the study showed that the Gesit TB program still faces many problems that hinder more optimal results. This is indicated by the still low number of new Tuberculosis cases detected and the minimal involvement of the community in the screening activities held. Several prominent factors include the lack of public awareness of the importance of early detection, negative stigma against tuberculosis sufferers, and the lack of health workers and supporting medical facilities
Based on these results, it shows that the Gesit TB program has great potential to become an effective and sustainable model for controlling Tuberculosis. Expanding the scope of examinations is one of the main recommendations of this study. For example, it is necessary to add chest X-ray services for high-risk groups in the community such as people with diabetes mellitus and people who have a history of close contact with tuberculosis patients. With this improvement, the Gesit TB program is expected to be able to detect and treat patients more quickly, and will gradually support the goal of eliminating tuberculosis in Batu City.
