Abstract
The involvement of the Wagner Group in the Central African Republic demonstrates a new form of intervention in modern warfare that has gone beyond the boundaries of traditional military intervention. This study analyses the implementation of Hybrid Warfare strategies behind the Wagner Group's intervention to control the Central African Republic. Unlike conventional intervention strategies, Wagner exploits the structural weaknesses of the country to control various strategic aspects, such as politics, society, and the economy. This strategy integrates conventional tactics in combat with non-conventional warfare tactics through political lobbying, propaganda, disinformation, economic influence, and social activities. The findings of this study show that the success of the intervention cannot be separated from the network of companies owned by Yevgeny Prigozhin, which created a business ecosystem to support Hybrid Warfare operations. This analysis also confirms that Wagner's interventions are profit-driven, as reflected in the exploitation of natural resources as the main source of their economic gains. Thus, the Wanger Group's practice of Hybrid Warfare represents an evolution of modern conflict that aims to influence public opinion and the political direction of a country in order to maximise corporate profits.
