Abstract

PT. Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Regional 3 Zona 10 Tarakan Field plays a crucial role in ensuring Indonesia's national energy security through oil and gas production. In the complex and challenging oil and gas industry, employees who are emotionally and mentally engaged are more likely to innovate, boost productivity, and maintain workplace safety, all of which are critical. The aim of this study is to examine the influence of job resources on work engagement. The research was conducted over a period of six months, from October 2024 to March 2025. The subjects of the study were 50 millennial employees at PT. Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Regional 3 Zona 10 Tarakan Field. The sampling method used was probability sampling, where every element in the population had an equal chance of being selected. A simple random sampling technique was employed because the population size is small and homogeneous. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires consisting of two scales: The Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) and The Job Demands-Resources Scale
(JDRS). The research findings indicate that job resources have a positive and significant influence on work engagement among millennial employees at PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Regional 3 Zone 10 Tarakan Field. This result is supported by the correlation coefficient value of 0.603 and a significance value of 0.000, which demonstrates that the relationship is statistically significant. This implies that job resources exert a positive impact on work engagement among millennial employees at PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Regional 3 Zone 10 Tarakan Field.
