Abstract
Job stress is a physical and emotional response that occurs when job demands do not match available resources. Women who choose to work often feel depressed because work demands coincide with demands at home as mothers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of role conflict on job stress in female employees in the cigarette industry x, Pasuruan Regency. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. This study involved 282 female employees in the cigarette industry x, Pasuruan Regency as subjects selected using quota sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using the Job Stress Scale that has been developed and adapted to measure job stress and Work Family Conflict that has been adapted and developed to measure role conflict. Data analysis was performed using Jeffrey's Amazing Statistics Programs (JASP) software to test simple linear regression. The results showed that conflict had a positive and significant effect on job stress with a contribution of 79.8%. This study emphasizes the importance of family support and emotional management in female employees who work.
