KINERJA FRAKSI GERAKAN INDONESIA RAYA (GERINDRA) DI DEWAN PERWAKILAN RAKYAT DAERAH (DPRD) KOTA MALANG (Studi Pada Fraksi Gerindra DPRD Kota Malang)

In 2009, with 14,000 votes, Gerindra in the city secured 2 seats in the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD). In the 2014 elections, Gerindra increased its number of seats to 4 legislative seats with a total of 35,000 party votes. In the 2019 elections, Gerindra further increased its number of seats to 5 legislative seats with a total of 45,000 party votes. The Gerindra faction in the Malang City DPRD has been actively contributing to fulfilling the tasks of the Regional People's Representative Council, comprehensively and effectively, in line with the DPRD’s duties and functions. This is all done with the party's ideology in mind, aiming for the welfare of the community. The activities of the DPRD are closely linked with the party's vision. The role of the faction is integral to the DPRD, significantly influencing the DPRD’s roles in legislation, oversight, and budgeting at both the provincial and municipal levels. Some of the key challenges faced by the Gerindra faction in supporting the performance of the Malang City DPRD include differences in political opinions and viewpoints, as mentioned in the interview above. These differences are due to varying interests and the primary duties and functions of the different committees within the council. However, these challenges related to differing views on public budgeting can be addressed through evaluations by the Gerindra party in Malang City. This will lead to decisions that prioritize the interests of constituents and the people of Malang City in the regional parliament, namely the DPRD of Malang City.
