MAKNA SIMBOL DALAM TRADISI NEMBOT PENGANU SUKU PASER DI KABUPATEN PASER (Studi pada Masyarakat suku paser di Kabupaten Paser)

The Nembot Penganu tradition is a traditional matchmaking procession still maintained by the Paser people, but over time, its meaning has begun to shift. This study aims to describe the stages of the Nembot Penganu procession and the symbolic and spiritual values ​​contained within it. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the Nembot Penganu procession consists of preparation, handover, and acceptance stages, each of which contains meanings about readiness for married life, respect for the extended family, and the importance of social approval. In conclusion, the Nembot Penganu procession is not just a matchmaking ritual, but also a medium to strengthen the values ​​of solidarity, respect, and maintain the cultural sustainability of the Paser Tribe.
