Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development of the Flower Mall tourism in Sidomulyo village through the Local Economic Development (LED) approach. Sidomulyo Village has abundant local potential related to its main commodity, which is flower plants, both ornamental and cut flowers. The development of ornamental plant-based tourism in Sidomulyo Village is expected to drive local economic growth. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation.
The research results show that the development of the Flower Mall has been carried out through several strategies, namely the identification and utilization of local resources in the form of various ornamental plants, the provision of supporting facilities and infrastructure, digital marketing, and the improvement of human resource quality. In addition, the active involvement of the local community and the synergy between the village government, BUMDes, and other business actors are key in supporting the success of this tourism development.
The theory used in this research is Local Economic Development (LED) by the International Labour Organization (ILO). Which has four elements, namely: identification and utilization of local resources, provision of facilities and infrastructure, involvement and empowerment of the local community, and improvement of human resource quality. Based on the LED approach, intensive collaboration among stakeholders is necessary to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Flower Mall in the future.
