Abstract
The leather industry is one ofthe largestcontributors to global waste, making the application of sustainable concepts such as the ecoprint technique an environmentally friendly solution. Ecoprint is a dyeing technique for fabric or leather using natural materials, such as leaves, with the aid of mordants as color binders. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of using three types of mordants-Epsom salt, sodium acetate, and acetic acid-on the wet and dry rub fastness of ecoprinted leather. Method: The method used is an experimental approach with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The parameters measured were wet and dry rub fastness, analyzed using ANOVA If a real effect is found, then
continue with the Duncan test. Results: The results of the study showed that the average wet rubbing resistance in sequence with Epsom mordant, sodium acetate and acetic acid was 3.3, 3.6 and 4.0, while in dry rubbing it was 4.6, 4.6 and 4.3.Conclusion: All types of mordants can be used such as epsom, sodium acetate, acetic acid to provide wet and dry rub resistance that meets ISO 20433:2012 standards.
