Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources, including extraordinary biodiversity. This diversity is evident from the various species of flora and fauna spread throughout Indonesia, influenced by geographical factors, climate, and highly supportive natural conditions. This study aims to explore diverse fauna, particularly amphibians, focusing on their distribution, conservation status in semi-aquatic habitats, and environmental factors affecting their survival.
Based on available data, three main amphibian species were found in this area: Fejervarya limnocharis, Limnonectes kuhlii, and Hoplobatrachus rugulosus. Fejervarya limnocharis was the most abundant species, with 35 individuals and a conservation status of "Least Concern" (LC), indicating a stable population. Limnonectes kuhlii was recorded with 5 individuals and LC status, while Hoplobatrachus rugulosus was found with 6 individuals, also classified as LC. Overall, these three species showed stable population conditions without significant threats to their sustainability.
The distribution of amphibian species was dominated by semi-aquatic zones, particularly Fejervarya limnocharis (37.23% of total individuals), although some species, such as Hoplobatrachus rugulosus (6.38%), inhabited arboreal zones. Environmental factors such as water temperature, air temperature, and humidity significantly influenced species distribution. Higher daytime temperatures supported semi-aquatic species, while lower temperatures and higher humidity at night favored terrestrial and arboreal species active during nighttime.
The findings indicate that supportive environmental conditions, especially temperature and humidity, play a crucial role in the survival and distribution of amphibian species in this area.
