Abstract

Batam City, as one of Indonesia’s major industrial centers, is experiencing rapid development, encouraging PT Sat Nusapersada Tbk to plan the construction of a multi-story parking building to accommodate the increasing number of employees and vehicles. The soil at the project site has low bearing capacity, requiring a deep foundation system capable of transferring loads to the hard soil layer. This study aims to design a pile foundation in accordance with the site’s soil conditions and structural loads. Based on the analysis, circular prestressed concrete piles (spun piles) with a diameter of 0.6 meters and a length of 20 meters are used. The allowable bearing capacity of a single pile is 2,237.89 kN. The number of piles per column varies from 1 to 6, depending on the axial load. Pile group efficiency ranges from 71.74% to 88.5%, and the maximum settlement is 0.694 cm—well below the allowable limit of 2.5 cm. The pile cap design is also proven to be safe against bending, with a reinforcement requirement of 3,185 mm², fulfilled using D16 reinforcement spaced at 60 mm. These results indicate that the foundation system has been designed safely and efficiently.
