Abstract

Effective user interface design in e-commerce websites is critical to enhance user experience and business competitiveness. This study aims to implement the design thinking method to design the user interface of Alimart’s e-commerce website and measure user satisfaction using the System Usability Scale (SUS). The design thinking stages include empathize (semi-structured interviews with 3 participants), define (creating user personas and empathy maps), ideate (designing user flows), prototype (developing designs using Figma), and test (evaluation with 10 participants via SUS questionnaire). The SUS test results yielded an average score of 89.25 (Best Imaginable category, Grade B), indicating an intuitive, user-friendly design that meets user expectations. This research demonstrates the effectiveness of the design thinking approach in aligning design with user needs, particularly in the e-commerce context. The limitation lies in focusing solely on UI design without full program implementation.
