Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of social capital on the productivity of horticultural farmers in Telekung Village, Junrejo District, Batu City. Social capital in this study consists of trust, networks, norms, and participation, which are identified as the main factors in fostering cooperation and farmers’ productivity. The research applied a quantitative approach by collecting data through structured questionnaires distributed to 60 members of the farmer group Sumber Harapan Mulya. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The results show that trust and social networks have a positive and significant effect on farmers’ productivity, while norms and participation show a weaker but still significant effect. Overall, social capital variables are able to explain 88% of the variation in horticultural farmers’ productivity in Telekung Village. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening social capital within farmer groups to improve productivity and ensure farmers’ sustainable welfare.
