Abstract

SUMMARY
Jatropha curcas L. is a woody shrub that is commonly found in the tropics. This
plant is known to be very drought resistant and easily propagated by cuttings. Jatropha
originated from central America, especially Mexico. This plant is potential as a substitute
for fuel oil that can be used for alternative fuel sources that are renewable. Other benefits
of this plant are as a plant-based pesticide, organic fertilizer, animal feed source, and
erosion control.
This research was conducted in Jatropha plant collection land located in the village
of Kedung Pengaron, Pasuruan regency and tlogomas land, Lowokwaru sub-district,
Malang City, East Java Province from January to June 2019. The tools used were
agricultural equipment, ruler, term shoves, bows, Munsell Plant Tissue Color Book,
analytical scales, data collection books, stationery and cameras. The material used is
planting material in the form of stem cuttings from 32 Jatropha curcas genotypes consisting
of 5.1.1, 5.1.2, 6.1.2, 6.1.15, 7.1.6, 7.1.15, 18.1.5, 18.1.6, 5.2.2, 5.2.9, 6.2.11, 6.1.10, 7.2.10,
7.2.111, 18.2.3, 18.2.4 5.3.17, 5.3.16, 6.3.14, 6.3.15, 7.3.18 , 7.3.7, 18.3.4, 18.3.5, 5.4.16,
5.4.15, 6.4.10, 6.4.15, 7.4.4, 7.4.5, 18.4.10, 18.4.1, inorganic fertilizers ( NPK Mutiara
16:16:16), mixed planting media (husks, soil, manure) fungicide (Ridomil), insecticide
(Marshal), water. This study uses simple RAK and direct observation methods withanalysis
methods cluster in the vegetative to generative phases.
Based on the results of research on the characterization and kinship of 32 Jatropha plant
genotypes based on their morphological characters, it was concluded that: plant height 57.80 - 33.83
cm, stem diameter 2.3 - 1.4 mm, canopy diameter 42.33 - 25 cm , main stem color 5 Y 5/2, 5 Y 6/2,
2.5 GY 5/8, 2.5 GY 6/2, 2.5 GY 6/4, 2.5 GY 6/8, 2, 5 GY 7/6, 5 GY 5/8, 5 GY 6/4, 5 GY 6/10, 5
GY 7/10, the number of primary branches 1-2 branches. Have indentations, do not have hair on
young leaves, leaf shape round, tapered leaf tip shape, grooved leaf base, young leaf color 5 R 3/6,
10 R 4/6, 10 R 4/4, 5 YR 4/6, old leaf color 7.5 GY 3/4 and 7.5 GY 4/4, leaf bone color 2.5 GY 8/6,
2.5 GY 8/8, and 2.5 GY 5/6, stem length 13.8 - 6.9 cm, leaf length 13 , 03 - 7.13 cm, leaf width
13.73 - 8.93 cm, leaf p / l ratio 1: 1-0.82. Location of growing flowers at the end of the terminal and
armpit leaves, the number of branches in flowers as much as 2, the ratio of male / female flowers
1:18, crown color 2.5 GY 8/6 and 2.5 GY 8/8, petal color 2.5 GY 8/8 and 2.5 GY 8/10. Round fruit
shape, the color of ripe fruit, the number of fruits pertandan 1-3, fruit, stem length 8.3 - 4.00 cm,
fruit length 28.4 - 24.4 mm, fruit width 26.8 - 21.2 mm, ratio p / l fruit 1: 1.29-1.04. Black seed
color, elliptical and oval shape seeds, fine and coarse textured, seed length 18.1 - 14.5 mm, seed
width 11.33 - 9.00 mm, p / l ratio of seeds 1: 1.84-1.33. In the analysis of variance with dendograms
based on morphological characters of 32 genotypes of Jatropha plant, the highest kinship rate is
92.58% and the lowest is 00.00%.
