Abstract

Sebanti road is a local road with a 2/2 UD configuration, spanning 2.43 km in length and 4,5 meters in width, located in Pulau Laut Selatan District, Kotabaru Regency. This road serves as a main route for heavy trucks transporting agricultural commodities such as palm oil and rubber, which are key sources of income for the local community. The frequent passage of heavy vehicles has led to significant deterioration in the pavement structure over time. This study aims to assess the road damage level using the Surface Distress Index (SDI) method, a numerical index ranging from 0 to >150, where a value of 0 indicates excellent condition and >150 indicates severe damage. Field observations revealed three predominant types of damage: cracking, subsidence, and potholes. The analysis produced an average SDI value of 311, classifying the road as severely damaged. The recommended repair approach follows the 2024 Bina Marga guidelines, which are adapted to Indonesia's climate conditions. The proposed solution is full road reconstruction. The estimated cost for the pavement rehabilitation is IDR 5.655.522.500,00
