Abstract

This study aims to design an effective clean water distribution system and drainage network for the BTN Jone Housing Complex in Tanah Grogot, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan. The area frequently experiences flooding due to an imbalance between rainfall intensity and the capacity of the existing drainage infrastructure. The research includes an analysis of domestic and non-domestic water demand, along with calculations of wastewater discharge and design rainfall with a four-year return period, using the Log Pearson Type III distribution method and the rational method. The clean water distribution system is designed to serve 312 household connections, covering 1,248 residents, using HDPE pipes of various diameters. Hydraulic analysis was conducted using the Waternet software, showing a peak water demand of 2.81 liters per second. For the drainage system, the required channel capacity was determined based on rainfall intensity, runoff coefficients, and time of concentration. The drainage design considers channel cross-section, slope, and construction material to ensure sufficient flow capacity. The results indicate that the proposed pipe and drainage network can meet the area's clean water needs and effectively manage surface runoff. This study serves as a reference for infrastructure development in small to medium-scale residential areas located in tropical regions with high rainfall.
