PELAKSANAAN TERA DAN TERA ULANG ALAT UKUR, TAKAR TIMBANG DAN PERLENGKAPANNYA (UTTP) TERHADAP UPAYA PERLINDUNGAN KONSUMEN PADA DINAS KOPERASI, PERINDUSTRIAN DAN PERDAGANGAN KABUPATEN SUMBA BARAT (Studi Kasus Pada Pasar Wee karou Kecamatan Loli Kabupaten Sumba Barat)

In everyday life, humans certainly carry out buying and selling activities and almost every transaction certainly uses weighing tools. The weighing tools used by traders must of course have established standards so that consumers do not feel disadvantaged. This study aims to determine the implementation of calibration and recalibration of measuring tools, weighing, weighing and equipment in West Sumba Regency and to find out the obstacles experienced by the West Sumba Regency Government. This study uses a sociological juridical research type. The results of this study state that in the implementation of measuring and weighing practices at Wee Karou Market, there are still scales that do not have a valid mark on the implementation of calibration and recalibration. This is because traders do not follow the call for calibration and recalibration services, weighing tools.This is an important thing used by traders in conducting buying and selling transactions. However, there are still traders in Wee Karou Market who use unsuitable weighing tools, namely using weighing tools that have never been calibrated. Of the 318 traders in Wee Karou
Market, only 40% followed the calibration service call, but in fact the traders know the importance of carrying out calibration and recalibration because it is very useful to maintain and guarantee the accuracy of the weighing tools used daily in buying and selling transactions. So legally, weighing tools that do not carry out the recalibration service call used by Wee Karou Market traders are not legally used to weigh their merchandise.
