Abstract
Learning motivation is a crucial factor in the academic success of students, especially in a pondok pesantren (Islamic boarding school) environment that demands high independence and adaptability. One factor contributing to learning motivation is peer social support, which is believed to have an indirect influence through adaptability.This research aims to examine the mediating role of adaptability in the influence between peer social support and learning motivation in early adolescent female students.This study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. A total of 224 female students aged 13-16 years from Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 4, Kediri, participated in this research. The instruments used included the Social Provision Scale to measure social support, the Academic Motivation Scale for learning motivation, and an adaptability scale based on Haber and Ruyon's concept. Data analysis was conducted using PROCESS Model 4 by Hayes. The results indicate that peer social support directly influences learning motivation (β=0.2823;p=0.000) and also has an indirect influence through adaptability as a mediator (β=0.1975;p=0.000). These findings demonstrate that adaptability mediates the influence between peer social support and learning motivation. This research contributes to understanding the psychological mechanisms that strengthen the role of social interaction in enhancing students' learning enthusiasm within the pesantren environment."
