Abstract

This study aims to explain that the conflict between Israel and Hamas that occurred on October 7, 2023 has caused significant losses to the Israeli economy. This study aims to analyze the form of economic losses experienced by Israel after the attack, focusing on vital sectors such as tourism, agriculture, construction, technology, and international trade. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach, collecting data from various sources such as economic reports, academic journals, and current news. The results of the study show that this conflict has led to a sharp decline in economic growth, increased inflation, a weakening of the shekel currency, as well as disruptions to global supply chains. The tourism sector suffered heavy losses due to a decline in tourist visits, while the agriculture and construction sectors faced labor shortages and infrastructure damage. Israel's military spending has soared dramatically, reaching billions of dollars, and the budget deficit has risen to 8% of GDP. In addition, political instability and business uncertainty hamper foreign investment and domestic economic activity. The study concludes that the Israeli-Hamas conflict not only impacts security stability but also threatens Israel's economic resilience in the long run. Therefore, a comprehensive solution is needed to create a sustainable peace and restore Israel's economy.
