Abstract
Quarter life crisis (QLC) is a psychological condition characterized by confusion
about life direction, uncertainty about the future, and pressure in making important decisions.
This phenomenon is often experienced by university students in the final stage of their studies
as they enter early adulthood. One personality trait suspected to play a role in reducing the
intensity of QLC is conscientiousness, which reflects responsibility, orderliness, and self
regulation. This study aims to examine the role of conscientiousness in relation to QLC among
students working on their undergraduate thesis. The research employs a quantitative method
with a correlational approach. Participants were thesis-writing students selected through a
convinence sampling technique. The instruments used in the study were the conscientiousness
scale (IPIP-NEO) and the DCQ scale to measure QLC. Data were analyzed using simple linear
regression. The results indicate that conscientiousness significantly affects QLC. Individuals
with high levels of conscientiousness tend to experience lower levels of QLC. These findings
carry important implications for students and higher education institutions in promoting the
development of conscientiousness as a protective factor against QLC, through the cultivation
of disciplined behavior, planning habits, and character building via educational programs.
