UPAYA ORGANISASI KERJASAMA ISLAM (OKI) DALAM MENGATASI ISLAMOPHOBIA DI PRANCIS TAHUN 2020-2023

The phenomenon of Islamophobia in France saw a significant rise between 2020 and 2023, marked by various government policies considered discriminatory against Muslims, including the dissolution of Islamic organizations, mosque closures, and political rhetoric targeting the Muslim community. This study aims to analyze the efforts of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in addressing Islamophobia in France. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach using literature review from various sources such as official reports, scholarly articles, and international organizational documents. The findings indicate that the OIC plays an active role in advocating for the protection of Muslims through official statements, diplomatic cooperation, annual Islamophobia observatory publications, and promoting the designation of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia by the United Nations. Although the OIC lacks binding legal authority, its efforts reflect a collective commitment among member states to tackle Islamophobia at a global level.
