Abstract
Celebrity worship often becomes a part of fans’ lives, especially within popular culture such as K-Pop. This study aims to examine the influence of various aspects of celebrity worship on the psychological well-being of early adult female K-Pop fans. A quantitative approach using multiple linear regression was employed in this research. The participants consisted of 443 female individuals aged 18–25 who are K-Pop fans. The instruments used were the Celebrity Worship Scale and the Psychological Well-Being Scale, which were distributed online through Google Forms and shared via social media. The results revealed that only one aspect of celebrity worship, namely intense-personal feelings, had a positive and significant effect on psychological well-being (p=0.008; β=0.134), particularly on the purpose in life dimension. Conversely, the entertainment-social aspect showed a significant negative influence (p=0.011; β=-0.129), while the borderline-pathological aspect did not demonstrate a significant effect (p=0.479; β=-0.038). Overall, the three aspects of celebrity worship accounted for only 3.1% of the variance in psychological well-being. These findings suggest that celebrity worship is not a primary factor influencing the psychological well-being of early adult female K-Pop fans.
