Abstract

The North Ring Road of Lamongan is a 4/2 D arterial road with a length of 6.9 km and a width of 14 meters, located in Lamongan Regency. The construction of this road aims to avoid two railway crossings that intersect the national highway. In addition, there are four major intersections within the city that often cause traffic congestion during peak hours. Based on the analysis using the 2017 Bina Marga MDPJ method, the pavement structure consists of a 5 cm asphalt concrete wearing course (AC-WC), a 6 cm asphalt concrete binder course (AC-BC), a 10 cm asphalt concrete base, 30 cm of cement-treated base (CTB), a 15 cm class B aggregate subbase, a 40 cm class C aggregate subgrade, and a 60 cm selected fill material. Meanwhile, the analysis using the 1993 AASHTO method resulted in a pavement structure consisting of 15 cm of asphalt concrete surface layer, 23 cm of class A aggregate base, 85 cm of class A sand and gravel (Sirtu/Pitrun) subbase, and 60 cm of selected fill material. Among the two methods, the AASHTO 1993 method was chosen for the flexible pavement thickness design of the North Ring Road construction project in Lamongan as it provides a thicker and thus safer structure. The total estimated construction cost is RP. 126,514,911,057
