Abstract
Marriage anxiety is a form of emotional discomfort commonly experienced by early
adult women, especially those who grew up without father figure, also known as fatherless.
This condition can effect one’s interpersonal attachment patterns an psychological readiness to
enter long-term commitments such as marriage. This study aims to examine the influence of
fatherlessness on marriage anxiety in early adult women. The research employed a quantitative
approach with a correlational design. The participants consisted of 151 individuals selected
through convenience sampling. The instruments used were the Marriage Anxiety Scale an the
Father Presence Questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression test
via the JASP software. The results revealed that fatherlessness significantly influences marriage
anxiety (p < .001), with a negative correlation. This means that the greater the experience of
fatherlessness, the higher the level of marriage anxiety experienced. This study offers important
contributions to understanding the role of father figures in the emotional well-being of
daughters and provides a foundation for psychological interventions targeting early women who
experience anxiety about entering marriage.
