Penyelesaian Tindak Pidana Penyalahgunaan Narkotika Melalui Restorative Justice (Studi di Polres Kabupaten Pasuruan)

One of the government's efforts to tackle the crime of narcotics abuse is through the ratification of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. As the world progresses towards modernization, there is a paradigm shift towards the goal of punishment. The law is no longer seen as a tool of retribution, but rather as a means of restoration. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the process of solving, obstacles, and efforts to overcome obstacles to solving the crime of narcotics abuse through restorative justice at the Pasuruan Regency Police. The research method used is an empirical legal research method using a sociological juridical approach, primary and secondary data sources, data collection methods with interviews, observations, and literature studies and descriptive analysis. The results of the research and discussion show that the process of resolving the crime of narcotics abuse through restorative justice at the Pasuruan Regency Police has been in line with the provisions of the Narcotics Law. However, there are several obstacles, such as cultural factors and lack of public understanding. So, it is hoped that the public can have awareness of the importance of implementing restorative justice in resolving narcotics abuse crimes. The Pasuruan Regency Police Narcotics Investigation Unit needs to optimize the implementation of socialization regarding the dangers of narcotics and the approach through restorative justice in order to achieve restorative justice
