Abstract
Changes and uncertainties in the workplace require individuals, especially Gen-Z employees, to possess career adaptability skills to face professional dynamics and pressures. Gen-Z is known as a generation that grew up with technology, but often experiences challenges in adjusting to formal work environments. One factor that plays a role in shaping adaptability is a proactive personality that can influence change in difficult situations, as proactive individuals tend to be more flexible and adaptive to changes in the workplace. This study aims to determine the effect of a proactive personality on career adaptability in Gen-Z employees. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and simple linear regression analysis techniques. The number of participants was 269 Gen-Z employees selected through this technique.convenience sampling. The instruments used include Proactive Personality Scale And Career Adapt-abilities Scale. The analysis results show that proactive personality has a positive and significant effect on career adaptability with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.401. This means that proactive personality contributes 40.1% to increasing career adaptability, while the remainder is influenced by other factors. Individuals with high levels of proactive personality tend to be better able to respond to change, take initiative, and develop adaptive career strategies. These results emphasize the importance of proactive personality development interventions in job training to support the readiness of the younger generation in the modern work era.
