STRATEGI PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER RELIGIUS SISWA MELALUI PENDIDIKAN KEMUHAMMADIYAHAN DI SD MUHAMMADIYAH 4 KOTA MALANG

Abstract: The development of Islamic character through the implementation of
Kemuhammadiyahan education aims to shape individuals with noble morals in accordance with
Islamic teachings and Muhammadiyah principles. This process not only focuses on theoretical
understanding but also emphasizes the formation of attitudes and behaviors that reflect Islamic
values, referred to as religious character. This qualitative research, conducted through interviews
and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, reveals how SD
Muhammadiyah 4 Kota Malang applies educational methods used by the Prophet Muhammad
(peace be upon him) in shaping moral and religious character. These include six methods: the
Exemplary Method (al-Uswah al-Hasanah), the Habituation Method (Ta’widiyyah), the Advice
and Counsel Method (Mauizhah), the Storytelling Method (Qashash), the Parable Method
(Amtsal), and the Reward and Punishment Method (Tsawab and Iqab). The findings show that
teachers adhere to a code of ethics established by the government and participate in various
trainings held by Muhammadiyah to serve as role models for students. Good habits and behaviors
are developed gradually and reinforced through stories of the Prophet and other Islamic figures,
motivational advice, parables that help students grasp teachers' explanations, and the use of
rewards and punishments to foster religious character and reduce negative behaviors that may
hinder character development.
