Abstract

In this reflection, the author aims to provide information regarding steps a student can take to maintain their previously acquired memorization. This is important considering that graduates of the Islamic Religious Education Study Program (PAI) are expected to be active in Islamic-based learning, primarily based on the Qur'an and Hadith. As students, there are certainly several challenges to overcome, including the availability of time and a supportive environment. To achieve the aforementioned goals, the author uses the sima'i and tikrar methods in the process. The use of these two methods serves different purposes. The sima'i method is intended to examine and learn how to pronounce each word correctly. The tikrar method is intended to reinforce existing memorization. Considering the need for a supportive time and place, the author recommends the time after the dawn prayer, the place being the mosque. By using this method, the memorization can be firmly established in the heart without neglecting the importance of correct reading. Memorizing the Qur'an without forgetting the importance of correct pronunciation is very necessary for a prospective educator, because that is how the true meaning of the Qur'an can reach students.
