Abstract

Early marriage is a common phenomenon among the Madurese community and remains an integral part of their upheld traditions. However, marrying at a young age often presents challenges, particularly concerning emotional maturity and marital satisfaction. This study aims to examine the role of supportive dyadic coping (SDC) as a moderator in the relationship between emotional maturity and marital satisfaction among adolescents who marry early. The research adopts a quantitative approach with accidental sampling techniques, involving 190 married respondents aged 16–19 from the Madurese ethnic group. The instruments used include scales measuring emotional maturity, marital satisfaction, and supportive dyadic coping. Data were analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with PROCESS by Hayes. The results of the study indicate that supportive dyadic coping functions as a moderator that strengthens the influence of emotional maturity on marital satisfaction, with a coefficient value of β = 0.021, p < 0.01
