Abstract
This study aims to analyze the transaction mechanism and accounting application of murabahah financing based on PSAK 402 at BPRS Arsa Sejahtera. Murabahah is a sale and purchase contract with the addition of an agreed profit margin, and is one of the dominant financing contracts in Islamic banking. The application of accounting in accordance with PSAK 402 is important to ensure transparency and compliance with sharia principles. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study on BPRS Arsa Sejahtera Batu City. Data were obtained through interviews, documentation, and observation. The results showed that BPRS Arsa Sejahtera applied pure murabahah and murabahah bil wakalah contracts, but only limited to order-based murabahah. In terms of accounting, most of the records are in accordance with PSAK 402, such as the recognition of murabahah receivables, measurement, and presentation and disclosure of margins. However, there are still challenges in implementation, such as the lack of assertiveness in the collection of fines, the application of discounts, and early repayment which is not always recorded according to the standard. This study recommends increasing understanding of PSAK 402, especially for BPRS human resources, as well as strengthening internal supervision so that the implementation of Islamic accounting is more optimal and consistent with sharia principles.
