Abstract

The level of work readiness among new graduates in Indonesia remains a challenge, especially amid intense industry competition. A preliminary study at a private company found that Gen-Z employees exhibit behaviors that indicating poor work readiness, such as low discipline, motivation, and social engagement in the workplace. This leads to weak resilience, maturity, motivation, and interpersonal skills. This study aims to investigate the relationship between perceived social support and work readiness among Gen-Z employees in a multigenerational workplace. The method used was quantitative correlational with accidental sampling techniques applied to 96 respondents. The instruments used were the Work Readiness Scale (WRS) and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Pearson's analysis showed a significant positive correlation between perceived social support and work readiness (r = 0.217; p = 0.034), albeit weak. These findings indicate the importance of social support in shaping work readiness. Implications suggest that organizations need to provide mentoring programs and interpersonal training to support the work readiness of young employees
