Abstract
Background : In volleyball, physical condition is a crucial aspect and is the basis for improving skills, strategies, mentality, and tactics. If a player has poor shaking power, then their performance during the match will not be optimal, especially when they do a smash or block, because both of these movements require high explosive power to reach the best height. The researcher decided to make volleyball athletes from PBV Gempar Waru as the research subjects, because most players there do not have good explosive weakness abilities. Therefore, the researcher wanted to improve the explosive ability of volleyball players by implementing plyometric training. Purpose : Increasing explosive leg power in volleyball players using Plyometric Exercise is the main objective of this study.. Methods : This study uses an experimental quantitative research method with a control group as a comparison to the experimental group. Respondents in this study were Pbv Gempar Waru volleyball players as an experimental group totaling 20 respondents. Pbv Dewa 17 and Pbv. Merpati Waru A total of 20 people each as a control group. The measuring instrument in this study used a vertical jump test. Result : Based on the Paired Sample Test Results, the t-test result is -27.742 with a significance of <,001, which indicates that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Therefore, volleyball players from the Pbv. Gempar Waru Volleyball Club significantly increase the explosive power of the leg muscles through plyometric training. Conclusion : Plyometric Exercise has an effect on increasing explosive power of leg muscles in volleyball players.
