Abstract
This study aims to examine the cultural adaptation strategies implemented by EF Sawojajar in an effort to enhance expatriate performance. The primary focus of the research includes an understanding of the prevailing organizational culture, the adaptation processes experienced by expatriates, and the cross-cultural strategies employed by the company to maintain its competitive advantage. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing data triangulation techniques for analysis. The findings indicate that national culture cannot be uniformly applied to every individual, as the adaptation process is strongly influenced by the level of organizational support. Furthermore, the existing adaptation strategies are not yet fully sustainable, thus the risk of expatriate assignment failure remains. These results highlight the importance of ongoing cross-cultural training after expatriates arrive in the host country. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more effective strategies in facilitating the expatriate adjustment process and improving their performance.
