Abstract

Abstrack. This study aims to determine the effect of academic resilience on the fear of failure in final year students. Resilience is an individual's ability to achieve success in difficult situations. This study was conducted on 536 respondents who were final year students in
Indonesia with the largest age range of 21-22 years. The research method used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and simple linear regression analysis. The instrument used for fear of failure was the Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory Form (PFAI) and for the academic resilience variable was the Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30). The results of this study indicate that there is a negative and significant effect between academic resilience and fear of failure (β = -0.237, p = 0.000) (p <0.05), with a contribution of 5.6%. The higher the academic resilience possessed by students, the lower the fear of failure felt by students. This finding indicates that a positive perception of difficult situations makes individuals confident in their abilities and able to face challenges so that individuals are not afraid of failure.
