Abstract
Social media has increasingly become a supportive tool in the teaching and learning process. Its use among automotive students at SMK Muhammadiyah Banyuwangi is evident, yet the level of utilization and its influence on students’ learning quality require further investigation. This study examines three essential aspects of learning quality learning styles, motivation, and student character which are highly relevant in vocational education. A quantitative method with a causal associative approach was employed to analyze the effect of social media use (X) on learning quality (Y). Data analysis techniques included simple linear regression, t-tests, correlation coefficients, and the coefficient of determination. A normality test was conducted to ensure the suitability of the regression model. The Kolmogorov–Smirnov test produced a significance value of 0.200, which is greater than 0.05, indicating that the residuals are normally distributed and the regression model is appropriate for further analysis. The results show a regression coefficient of 0.944 with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). These findings demonstrate that greater educational use of social media positively influences learning quality. Specifically, social media helps students adapt their learning styles, increases learning motivation, and supports the development of student character. Overall, the study concludes that social media provides a positive contribution to improving the learning quality of automotive students. However, learning quality is still shaped by additional factors. Therefore, the use of social media should be optimized alongside other teaching strategies to achieve more effective learning outcomes.
