ANALISIS EFISIENSI TEKNIS PRODUKSI TEBU KEPRASAN PADA LAHAN SAWAH DAN TEGALAN PETANI MITRA MANDIRI DI KECAMATAN NGAJUM, KABUPATEN MALANG, JAWA TIMUR

This study aims to analyze the technical efficiency of ratoon sugarcane farming on paddy and dryland fields by independent partner farmers in Ngajum District, Malang Regency. The main focus of this research is to identify the level of technical efficiency, the efficiency scale, and the use of production factors that are still inefficient. Primary data were collected through a survey of 60 partner farmers using a stratified random sampling approach. The analytical method used is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with an input-oriented approach and the Variable Return to Scale (BCC) model. The results indicate a difference in technical efficiency between paddy and dryland fields. Most farmers have not achieved full technical efficiency, primarily due to the use of inputs that exceed recommendations, such as Phonska and ZA fertilizers, and excessive ratoon frequency (more than five times). In addition, some farmers do not adjust labor usage according to the size of their land, which contributes to inefficiency. Based on these findings, improvements in the use of production inputs in accordance with technical recommendations are suggested, along with closer monitoring by partner
sugar mills and relevant authorities to enhance productivity and efficiency in
ratoon sugarcane farming.
