Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of job insecurity on organizational commitment and the role of perceived organizational support as a moderating variable on employees of PT Jatim Konsulindo Utama Malang. This research is motivated by the high level of job insecurity due to the contract system implemented by the company, which has the potential to reduce employee commitment. The research method uses a quantitative approach with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) technique. The sample in this study used the entire population of 37 employees or called a saturated sample. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed, then analysed using Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS). The results showed that job insecurity has a negative and significant effect on organizational commitment. This means that the higher the job insecurity felt by employees, the lower their level of commitment to the company. However, perceived organizational support is able to moderate the relationship by strengthening employee commitment even though they experience job insecurity. in other words, that perceived organisational support can reduce the negative impact of job insecurity on organizational commitment. Therefore, companies need to increase attention and support for employees to maintain employee commitment even in situations of job insecurity.
