Abstract
In an era where academic excellence must go hand in hand with moral integrity, textbooks play a vital role in shaping not only students' knowledge but also their character. This study aims to analyze the dimensions of character education presented in the English for Nusantara textbook for seventh-grade students published by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud). Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method and content analysis, the study focuses on identifying and classifying character education values based on the six dimensions outlined in the Pancasila Student Profile. The findings reveal that all six dimensions are represented in the textbook, covering 19 out of 20 character elements, with “intercultural communication and interaction” missing from the text but illustrated through images. A total of 52 instances of character education were identified, comprising 28 presented explicitly and 24 implicitly. The most frequently emphasized dimension is "having faith, respecting God Almighty, and possessing a noble character," with "developing positive interactions with others" as the most dominant element. The results suggest that the textbook prioritizes social values and may serve as a valuable medium not only for language learning but also for character building in alignment with national education goals.
