Abstract
Mathematics learning on the geometry of flat-sided solid geometry material in grade 5 in Elementary School still has obstacles, namely the low interest of students in the material of flat-sided solid geometry. Currently the media used is only in the form of 2-dimensional images that can be seen in one direction only, so it does not help students to understand the material. Based on these problems, the development of 3-dimensional media needs to be developed because it is concrete and innovative according to the needs of students, so it can help students understand the concept of flat-sided solid geometry material more easily understood and enjoyable. The purpose of this study is to develop innovative 3-dimensional media on solid geometry material.
This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes 5 stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The analysis stage in this study uses curriculum analysis, needs analysis and analysis of facilities and infrastructure, the design and development stage through validation experts from material experts and media experts implemented on grade 5 students at SDN Kedungotok and evaluation covers all stages. Data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. In this study used qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques.
The validation results showed that this media received an assessment from media experts of 95% and material experts of 93.75%, indicating that this media is very suitable for use by students who gave a good response to this media with 93.33% feeling that the media is fun and helps understanding the material. Teachers considered this innovative 3-dimensional media to be very helpful in the learning process and increase student interest. This study concluded that 3-dimensional media is very suitable and effective for use in the learning process of flat-sided spatial geometry material for grade 5 in Elementary Schools. Suggestions for further researchers are to consider a larger media size and add more interesting games, to increase student comfort and understanding.
