Abstract

One of the important factors in the successful cultivation of microgreens, especially
watercress (Nasturtium officinale L.) and red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.), is the
availability of balanced nutrients, because these nutrients play a major role in influencing
plant growth and its nutritional content. Liquid organic fertilizer has become an
environmentally friendly alternative in supporting plant growth, especially in the context
of sustainable agriculture. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) method
with treatments consisting of: no additional nutrients (negative control), application of
NPK fertilizer (positive control), and application of LOF (Liquid Organic Fertilizer) with
various doses. The parameters observed included germination power, plant height, number
of leaves, fresh weight, and chlorophyll content. The results showed that the application of
LOF at a dose of 15 ml/L was able to significantly increase plant height, chlorophyll
content, number of leaves, and germination power. Thus, it can be concluded that the
application of LOF is able to improve the quality of watercress (Nasturtium officinale) and
red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor) microgreens compared to negative controls.
