Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-module on the classification of living organisms based on the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to improve students’ learning interest and outcomes in Grade X at MAM 8 Lamongan. The research applied a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Validation instruments involved content, media, and language experts, and the product was tested through small and large-scale trials to evaluate its practicality and effectiveness. Validation results showed that the e-module fell into the “very feasible” category, with an average score of 126.5 from content experts and 107 from media experts. Practicality testing yielded 76.3% “practical” in the small group trial and 85.69% (very practical) in the large group trial. Effectiveness was evaluated through learning interest and outcome improvements. The N-gain score for learning interest was 0.89 “89.16%”, categorized as very effective, and for learning outcomes was 0.651 (65.11%), categorized as effective. These findings indicate that the developed CTL-based e-module is feasible, practical, and effective for biology instruction, especially for the topic of classification of living organisms, and can enhance students’ learning interest and outcomes.
