Abstract
The development of technology today has had a very big impact on people's lives, the negative impact caused by the development of technology today is the rampant online gambling in Indonesian society. In general, online gambling is an act that is contrary to religious norms, politeness, and morals of the Indonesian nation. The research method used by the author is using an empirical research method, namely by coming directly to the author's research location, namely at the East Java Regional Police to support the research. Online gambling is designed very systematically by online gambling bookies, there are several stages that must be done first to play online gambling such as registering, making a deposit, then gambling where players choose the game to be played, and after getting a profit, make a profit withdrawal. Indonesia is the country with the first place as the country
with the largest number of online gambling players in the world with a total transaction of IDR 900 trillion. While East Java is in fourth place as the province with the largest number of online gambling players in Indonesia with a total transaction of IDR 1,051 trillion. Online gambling currently has many negative impacts such as economic impacts, mental health, and the social environment. The
factors that cause someone to play online gambling are the desire to get rich quickly, easy access to play online gambling, and the lack of public legal awareness. Regulations regarding conventional gambling are regulated in Article 303 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code (KUHP). Meanwhile, online gambling is regulated in Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to Law
Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions.
