Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate a pocket book titled Fun Fact
Science: Biology as an enrichment learning medium for science subjects at SMP
Muhammadiyah 4 Tanggul. The background of this research is the need for
innovative learning media that can increase students’ interest and motivation in
studying biology, which is often perceived as difficult and boring. The method
used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis,
Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Validation was conducted by
content and media experts, while practicality was assessed by teachers and student
responses. The validation results indicated that the pocket book was in the "very
feasible" category, with scores of 83% from content experts and 90% from media
experts. The practicality test results from teachers showed a score of 95.56%, and
student responses reached 91%, both categorized as “very good.” The pocket book
proved to be practical, engaging, and capable of enhancing students' motivation
and understanding of biology concepts. Therefore, Fun Fact Science: Biology is
considered appropriate to be used as an enrichment medium in science learning at
the junior high school level.
