Abstract

This research aims to describe students' perspectives on homosexual behavior that occurs through the use of application X in Malang City. The phenomenon of homosexual behavior in students is seen along with the easy access to social media that facilitates interaction between homosexuals. This research uses qualitative method with descriptive research type, the subject is obtained using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are by collecting data, presenting data, condensing data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there are student perspectives on homosexual behavior, including mental health, relationship patterns, and stigma and discrimination. The use of X application can facilitate homosexual interaction because there is ease of access. Unstable mental health conditions make subjects look for a place to shed sexual behavior that is not in accordance with cultural norms and religious values. The impact of this research is expected to provide an understanding of self-control in social media, mental health care for individuals with homosexuality, and understanding to each individual about sexuality in order to be protected from homosexual behavior.
