Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of employee engagement on employee performance with organizational commitment as a mediating variable among SKT Giling production employees at PT Gudang Baru Berkah. The main problem faced by the company is the high absenteeism rate, which negatively impacts the achievement of production targets. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, where data were collected by directly handing out questionnaires to 93 employees. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that employee engagement has a positive and significant effect on both employee performance and organizational commitment. Organizational commitment also significantly influences employee performance. Furthermore, it was found that organizational commitment significantly mediates the effect of employee engagement on employee performance. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing both employee engagement and commitment to improve overall organizational performance.
