Abstract
Aisyiyah Hospital Bojonegoro has a public service function in the health sector. High work pressure makes health workers vulnerable to burnout. Based on findings in the field, researchers witnessed a nurse providing information to the patient's family in a less than good tone. The complaint data in 2024 that came in via Google Form were 36 complaints and there were several complaints that were submitted verbally by visitors. This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on burnout of nurses at Aisyiyah Hospital Bojonegoro. This study uses a quantitative method with a simple linear regression data analysis technique. The sample in this study consisted of 140 nurses at Aisyiyah Hospital Bojonegoro in the hospital service section. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, the instrument in this study was the Brief Emotional Intelligence Scale (BEIS-10) developed from the theory of Salovy & Mayer with reliability (0.961) and The Maslach-Trisni Burnout Inventory compiled by Rizkina et al (2022) with reliability (0.723). The results of the study showed that there was an effect of emotional intelligence on burnout value (p = 0.000 <0.05) and the coefficient value (R2) of 0.565 indicated that emotional intelligence had an effect on burnout of nurses at Aisyiyah Hospital Bojonegoro. The higher the emotional intelligence, the lower the burnout. The implications of the results of this study are expected that hospital management can consider in organizing emotional intelligence training for nurses.
