Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of job demands on Personal Growth Initiative (PGI) among employees. PGI refers to an individual's ability to actively and intentionally develop themselves in response to work-related challenges. The research involved 278 respondents who are currently employed, with an age range of 15–65 years. A quantitative approach was applied using a simple linear regression analysis. The results indicate a significant relationship between job demands and PGI (β = -0.195, p = 0.048), with a contribution of 1.4%. These findings suggest that job demands play a role in shaping employees’ personal development efforts. Therefore, it is recommended that organizations manage job demands wisely and provide sufficient support to facilitate employees’ optimal personal growth.
