Abstract

This study aims to analyze smart farming adoption strategies to improve agricultural productivity in Indonesia by utilizing bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review (SLR) approaches. The data consists of 127 scientific publications obtained from the Dimensions.ai database, covering the years 2015 to 2025. Bibliometric analysis was used to identify publication trends, co-authorship networks, and keyword co-occurrences. Additionally, the SLR approach was employed to synthesize strategic adoption insights based on Mintzberg’s 5P framework (Plan, Ploy, Pattern, Position, Perspective). The findings indicate a significant rise in smart farming publications in the past five years, with primary focus areas on digital technologies, agricultural transformation, and farmer adoption. However, collaboration between researchers remains limited. The identified strategies highlight the importance of an integrated approach involving policy planning, infrastructure support, and understanding farmers’ perceptions and readiness. This research is expected to serve as a reference for evidence-based policymaking to support inclusive and sustainable agricultural transformation in Indonesia.
