KAJIAN PERAN GENDER DALAM PENGELOLAAN AGROSILVOPASTUR SECARA BERKELANJUTAN

This study examines the role of gender in the implementation of the agrosilvopasture system in Wiyurejo Village, Pujon District, Malang Regency. Gender inequality remains a challenge in the agriculture, animal husbandry, and forestry sectors, even though gender equality has been recognized as a human right and one of the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The study was conducted in May–June 2025 using a survey method using questionnaires and interviews with 50 purposively selected respondents. Data were analyzed descriptively and using the Pearson correlation test using SPSS software. The results indicate that gender roles in the agriculture, livestock, and forestry sectors in Wiyurejo Village are still dominated by men, particularly in jobs requiring significant physical labor, while women are more involved in caregiving and domestic activities such as milking. Support for gender equality is quite high, particularly in aspects of resource access, women's participation, and equitable wage distribution. However, support for men as advocates for change remains relatively low. In the context of agrosilvopasture, the community believes this system can improve environmental quality, but its economic benefits have not yet been fully realized. This study emphasizes the importance of increasing knowledge, training, and policy support to enhance women's roles in agrosilvopasture. Gender equality is not only a matter of rights but also a crucial strategy for promoting the sustainability and well-being of rural communities.
